Foundation Scholarship Winners

Andrew Majeste of Kenner is the recipient of the Roy F. Amedee Scholarship in the amount of $1,000.00. Andrew was eligible to apply for the scholarship through his father's affiliation with Winn Dixie in Hammond. Andrew's father, Clayton Majeste, has been an employee of Winn Dixie since February 1982. Andrew graduated from Grace King High School in Metairie. Andrew was a member of 4H, school newspaper, bible study club, and national honor society. Andrew volunteered with vacation bible school at Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Kenner, youth leadership, and vineyard hurricane relief outreach. Andrew has worked as a sales associate at One Cleaners. Andrew will attend Mississippi College and will major in sociology/social work.




Valeria Romero of Metairie is the recipient of the Louisiana Retailers Association Scholarship in the amount of $1,000.00. Valeria was eligible to apply for the scholarship through her mother's affiliation with Breaux Mart Supermarket. Valeria's mother, Maria Romero, has been an employee of Breaux Mart Supermarket since November 2001. Valeria graduated from Grace King High School in Metairie. Valeria has been active in the Irish Eyes newspaper, 4-H helping hands, & bible study. Valeria volunteered in the ballet folkloriko nicaraguense cosmapa.

Valeria has been employed by Subway as a night shift leader and as a child care assistant at Kiddie Depot Day Care Center. Valeria will attend Southeastern Louisiana University and will major in Law or Pre-Law.



Claire Perret of Lafayette is the recipient of the Elizabeth Gossom Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $500.00. Claire was eligible to apply for the scholarship through her mother's affiliation with Lafayette Tire & Service. Claire's mother, Christy Perret, has been an employee of Lafayette Tire & Service since June 1986. Claire graduated from St. Thomas More Catholic High School in Lafayette. Claire has been involved as a varsity cheerleader, French district rally participant, breakfast of champions, top cat, and flag football. Claire has been a 3 year volunteer of the games of acadiana, cheer clinic for elementary/middle school children, swim instructor assistant, and a painting the walls at the local park volunteer. Claire will attend University of Louisiana at Lafayette and will major in Psychology.
